From the muffled metal echoing outside, you might at first think this is a bit of an intimidating place, but once you venture inside you will see just how inviting and authentic The Bollocks bar is. This place has “classic grunge bar” running through its veins and will remind you of the rock era of the early 90s, but even if you’re not a metalhead you will enjoy the diverse crowd of people and epic music from all over the world.
The ambience is perfect, slightly dark like a concert, with graffiti and stickers covering the walls, and a foosball table to challenge all your new friends. But your best friend of the night will certainly be the legendary Eddie mannequin sitting on the toilet shredding one of the countless guitars scattered all over the bar. They’ve even got live piranhas, and if you are lucky enough you will get to watch them feed in all their glory. In all of Barcelona, The Bollocks’ atmosphere and decor are nearly impossible to beat.
The salty delicious popcorn is perfect to munch on with cheap beers, panthers milk, or any of their band themed cocktails. If you are looking for more than just munch, they’ve got cheesy nachos with guacamole, monstrous chilli peppers and, last but not least, killer huge burgers that are all named after guitar makes. The only thing that rocks harder than the music, drinks and food are the staff. They seem like the notorious crew you would pull right out of the movies and will help make you feel welcome. Great place to start the night, continue it and finish it off rockin hard.
Final Summary
The Bollocks is certainly a must-see when you are on a Subculture Escape in Barcelona. Any night of the week you can get good food, cold drinks and rockin music till the early morning.
