Sauna Casanova is probably the most famous and most frequented gay sauna in Barcelona. The main reason for this is its location. As it’s in Eixample, where most of the LGBT venues are, it’s an easy place to go to. It’s not only useful in the daytime. As it’s open 24/7, people can roll out of the nearby clubs and straight into the open doors of Sauna Casanova. This means it can be pretty busy, even at 6/7am. The fun never ends here which is why we chose this as our featured gay sauna in our Barcelona Gay Escape.
This sauna hasn’t just got lots of people, it’s got lots of facilities too. It has showers, a sauna, a steam room and what they advertise as a “Jacuzzi” but it seems more like a swimming people. It also has a bar next to the “Jacuzzi” so you can roll in and out to get drinks.
When you enter, you’ll be given a locker and free condoms and lube. You might need these in case you get any action and want to use one of their 18 dark rooms. They can get busy so you can always book ahead and reserve your own room.
Sauna Casanova is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When’s best to go? Well, honestly the reason it’s open 7 days a week is because it is popular enough to be able to. If you’re looking for the busy times, however, then head there after the clubs close (around 5/6 am). Check out our Barcelona Gay Escape to see the best clubs nearby! Friday nights and the weekend is also particularly popular time to go. If you’re coming here at a peak time of year (Pride or Circuit Festival, for example) then you may have to queue to get in.
Final Summary
Sauna Casanova is by far the most popular sauna in Barcelona. Right in the centre of town, near all the other big gay venues, it’s easy to get to and draws a good crowd.
